Marlow

Meet the gorgeous Marlow, a white German Shepherd who is 3 years and 9 months old. Marlow recently found himself surrendered to the shelter, because his family moved to a smaller home, he was placed into our foster care program after he became very stressed and started losing weight. Marlow has been in a loving foster home the last few weeks and is now ready for his next chapter… forever!

Marlow is an affectionate cuddle bug, he loves pats and wants all of the attention from anyone he meets; he is a typical German Shadow who follows his human around the house, ready for a chest scratch and tummy rub at any moment. Marlow is happiest inside hanging out with his humans, he expects full couch privileges in his new home and settles beautifully at night.
Marlow may be suited to living with children, he has previously lived with older kids and was great with them.

Marlow previously lived on a large property and didn’t have a lot of exposure to busy and built-up areas; he had not left his yard much at all in recent times. Marlow becomes anxious in new environments, especially when they are busier, he doesn’t like the movement of wheels and will become hyper-aroused around moving vehicles.

Marlow has been walking in quiet areas to keep his arousal levels low, he has made a lot of progress but still prefers quiet environments without too much going on. Marlow’s ideal home would be a rural / large property where he can avoid the hustle and bustle of suburbia.

Marlow loves to play and is very food motivated, he knows his basic commands and is generally well behaved, however can be cheeky and demanding at times like most German Shepherds. Marlow’s new owners should be committed to his ongoing training and confidence building.

Marlow is conflicted with other dogs, he can be a little reactive and unsure at first, but when given time and space to work through it, he is happy to say hello. After a slow introduction, Marlow gets along well with others and enjoys their company, however does like to play rough and finds himself being told off by other dogs regularly.

Marlow may like to live with another large breed dog in his new home, a confident dog that will tell him off when needed would be most suitable; he would also be fine as the only dog in his new home.
Marlow hasn’t been tested with cats, he has shown he would like to chase chickens if they are out of the coop.

This cuddly boy is looking for a home where he can play and have plenty of space away from the noisy outside world, he is a home body who loves spending time with his humans whether it be playing fetch with his squeaky toy, cuddling on the couch or helping with chores like licking the dishes clean. Marlow is ready to step back into the country lifestyle and take his place by his human’s side.
