Cara
šute lšndshaš„k šlert!
Beautiful little Cara is just 6 months old and has already been in multiple homes and the shelter, this darling girl is ready for stability, commitment and all the unconditional love that someone can offer her!
Cara is a cuddly munchkin that just adores her humans, she doesnāt realise how quickly she is growing and will often climb into laps, positioning herself for elite face licks. Cara hasnāt had a lot of exposure to the outside world, whilst she takes everything in her stride, she will give new people a woof at first but is quickly won over once she realises that they are friends and then canāt contain her excitement!
Cara is still a baby and is learning manners and boundaries; she is in peak ālandsharkā phase and when she is over-excited, having a tantrum, overtired or just because she feels like it (typical teenager) will jump up and become mouthy. Cara will need to work on her impulse control and learn to keep her listening ears switched on; she is a typical puppy, but a large one, and needs to be taught what behaviours are and arenāt appropriate.
We are looking for an experienced home for Cara, one that has raised a German Shepherd or working breed puppy; they are not for the faint-hearted but are so completely worth it when the effort and time is put into them. We recommend a home with children over 8 that are dog savvy, whilst she is just a pup, she now has adult teeth and little fingers easily get in the way!
Cara is a sponge and is extremely clever, she picks up new commands quickly and engages well with her handler. Cara responds well to corrections, but she thrives off positive reinforcement and is motivated by food, toys and praise, she will be a dream to train! Cara would benefit from ongoing training; she needs a strong leader who will guide her and commit to helping her reach her full potential.
Cara is conflicted with other dogs; she doesnāt know what to do with them and gets very frustrated wanting to say hello. With other playful dogs, Cara does well and erupts into zoomies, however with calmer dogs that just want to say hi or ignore her, she can be rude and bark at them demanding they give her more attention.
Cara would highly benefit from having a big brother, a large breed male dog that can show her the ropes and teach her some manners whilst also being her best friend and playmate. Cara would also be fine living as the only dog in her new home, she has not been tested with cats or other small pets, likely she would bark at first and would need gradual integration with her new home accepting she may need to always be separated.
Cara loves to go on adventures and has already shown she is a water baby that has a future career as a landscaper or sandcastle builder. Cara loves to play and adores being chased paying keepings off, this gorgeous little girl just oozes personality and sass, she is everything you want a German Shepherd puppy to be⦠cheeky, clever and extremely loving.
