YOUR FUTURE LEADING LADY?

Beautiful Lady came back into our care last month, and we’ve fallen in love with her all over again! This 5.5-year-old girl is looking for her FOREVER home, with people who will never give up on her, who will cherish and adore her for the quirky, loveable goofball she is.

Lady loves humans, she makes friends with everyone she meets, especially if they have a treat or squeaky toy handy. Lady is very affectionate and loves to cuddle, a chest scratch and belly rub are her favourite; she can be a little flirt with strangers, charming them quickly. A typical German Shadow, Lady is happiest when her humans are around. Lady sleeps peacefully inside and loves to cuddle on the couch, she must be allowed inside and included as part of the family.

Lady is a big girl and whilst not a jumpy dog, she often doesn’t realise her size when playing and zooming around, she can resemble a bit of a ‘bull in a China shop’ and may accidentally knock over small children. Lady would be best suited to a home where everyone is over the age of 5 and who have experience with large breed dogs.
Lady knows her basic commands, she knows a few tricks too but needs reminding of her manners and the skills she knows, at times she forgets to put on her listening ears.

Lady is clever and a quick learner; with reinforcement, repetition, and routine, she will pick things up in no time. Lady’s new family must be committed to her ongoing training, she has a lot of potential, and we have seen her exhibit some beautiful behaviours in the past, however when not practised and boundaries not enforced, old habits creep in.

Lady is a big girl and is strong on lead, she will need a strong, capable handler who is willing to work on her leash manners overtime. Lady is very frustrated when she sees other dogs and will have an explosive reaction; we recommend she is walked in quieter areas or at less busy times of the day to begin with, she would thrive working with a trainer.

Lady is very conflicted with other dogs, she has always been frustrated around them, however in the past we have seen her get along well with others once able to calm down and gradually meet. Lady hasn’t had many positive experiences in the past year, and due to this her frustration is at an all time high. For now, Lady needs to be the only dog in her new home; socialising with other dogs in future isn’t out of the question, but it will take work and dedication by her new human, her first goal is to be neutral around others.

Lady is not suited to a home with cats or livestock; she will need secure fencing in her new home.

The ultimate goofball, Lady is very cheeky and playful; she loves to play with toys, is a huge water baby who loves to splash, and will keep you laughing with her endless antics. Lady loves car rides and travels beautifully, she will be the best companion to someone who is looking for a loyal best friend.
