Our sponsors are incredibly important to us and without them, we wouldn't be able to do what we do!
We were thrilled to hear from animal nutritionist and all round GSD lover, Bill Wiadrowski, with a generous offer of support in 2018. Bill came to GSRV HQ, and the passion he showed for the health of companion animals was evident immediately!
We were impressed by the research behind the product, and excited to see how it would positively effect the health of our dogs. Unexpectedly, we were given an immediate demonstration; Jodie, a new GSD in care who had refused to eat anything for two full days, did not hesitate to chow down on the Lifewise food Bill offered her!
LifeWise is 100% Australian; Australian original science, with Australian human grade, pure and clean raw ingredients, processed in Australia, by Australians.
Lifewise provides this nutritionally balanced food for all dogs in our care, and Bill is always available to us when we need advice for special cases. Lifewise not only supports GSRV, but many other rescues as well – an amazing company and a product that has proven itself to us over and over.If you haven’t already, we really do recommend you give Lifewise a try!
More and more dogs coming into GSRV care with behavioural issues that need a bit more help than your average dog owner can give. With limited foster carers available, especially ones without other dogs, we were at a loss with what to do, as although we really wanted to help these dogs, we often have the capacity on our own.
This is how our specialised ‘Canine Rehabilitation Program’ was born! We approached Scott and Tanya from Homestead Boarding & Training Kennels & Cattery with our idea and, they loved it! The team of highly trained staff from Homestead Boarding and Training Kennels & Cattery, take around one dog a month for a board and train, where they are taught basic training, and that the world isn’t so scary. When they leave, they are all ready to confidently move to their forever home. Dogs that we may not have been able to take, are saved and found loving homes because of the support from the lovely people at Homestead.
Be sure to visit their website if you’re looking for a fantastic Board and Train Program.
Doug and Gail from Allendale Boarding Kennels and Cattery have been such life savers over the years. Always willing to go above and beyond when we urgently need somewhere safe for a dog, we simply couldn’t have succeeded with some dogs if it weren’t for them. Constant last minute requests for help are met with such kindness and compassion and the extra effort they put in making sure GSRV residents feel safe and loved, is something for which we we will be forever grateful.
Simon from Living Image Photography has been fundraising for GSRV from the very early days of our organisation. An avid supporter of rescue dogs being given a second chance at life, Simon’s contribution to our organisation is greatly appreciated. His ability to bond with a dog and capture its true self is remarkable; he knows that each and every one of our rescue dogs has a special story. Living Image Photography even have some exciting future opportunities for both GSRV and its supporters!
Anita from Pipsqueaks has been a wonderful support to GSRV. From our very first 2014 GSRV Calendar, all the way to our wonderful 2020 edition, Pipsqueaks gorgeous photos of our rescue dogs has allowed us amazing opportunities to fundraise and spread the word about our organisation. Along with that, Anita has taken individual photos of GSRV dogs needing forever families – sometimes a perfect photo is all we need to find the most difficult to rehome dog, a forever family!
From the very beginning, Wantirna Veterinary Clinic have been loving and caring for our dogs like they are their own, giving the gold star treatment every time we visit. A last minute phone call with an urgent case is not uncommon; Alison, and the wonderful staff at Wantirna Vet, can always find time to fit in a dog needing immediate care. We simply cannot thank them enough for their dedication and ongoing desire to give rescue dogs a second chance at a happy and healthy life.
Southern Animal Health has given GSRV extremely generous support and assistance over the last few years, especially with difficult surgical cases. They offer amazing support to us and our dogs, always willing to go the extra mile for a dog in need. We are always welcome with a smile by Marcus, Karin and the lovely staff at Southern Animal Health, and our dogs are treated as the very special patents that they are! SAH put the dogs’ needs first at all times, and their advice and encouragement has been invaluable.
Kaye from K9 Resolutions has been an invaluable support to GSRV. She has taken some of our more challenging, often dog reactive, GSD’s in, and helped them become the best they can be, so their perfect forever homes can be found. Kay is always willing to find time for another dog in need, whether it be in person via free obedience classes for some of our more challenging dogs, or by providing support and advice over the phone to new adopters or foster carers.
