Bella

Beautiful Bella is 7 years old and is feeling very lost in the pound; Bella’s beloved human mum, her best friend, recently passed away, and unfortunately no-one in the family could take Bella. Now in the pound, facing an uncertain future, this sweet lady is looking for a second chance at happy ever after.

Bella absolutely adores humans; she is a complete cuddle bug that loves attention and will happily go to anyone who is willing to give her a pat. Being a mature dog, long gone are the days of puppy behaviours, Bella is a beautifully behaved girl that is used to living with an older person, she is gentle and very sweet in her interactions.

Bella has lived a sheltered life, not leaving her property much in recent times; she was quite content being at home with her mum, spending the days together pottering around the house and tending to the garden. Bella is quite stressed in the pound environment, being around noisy, barking dogs and without a warm bed to snuggle into has been a shell shock for her, she is looking for a quiet home where she can decompress and settle into a new routine. Bella may be ok living with children, she doesn’t have a lot of experience and may find an overly busy home overwhelming.

Bella hasn’t interacted much with other dogs, she can be quite reactive to them at first, barking and making a big scene to voice her displeasure at the sight of them. Bella has shown some progress with certain dogs in the pound and is learning to ignore them, however she ultimately just doesn’t want them around. Bella is looking for a home where she can be the only dog, she hasn’t been tested with cats or other small pets.

Bella doesn’t need an overly active lifestyle; however, she would enjoy regular exercise. Bella still has plenty of living to do and has moments of youthful enthusiasm where she bounds around the pound yard. Bella’s new human will need to be physically fit and strong enough to redirect Bella when she reacts to other dogs out on walks, she is quite strong on lead, but for the most-part walks nicely sniffing everything she can.

Bella is as loyal as they come, a complete German Shadow, this girl will follow you around everywhere and be a wonderful companion always up for a cuddle. Bella would enjoy having someone home often and has always been an indoor dog, she needs to be allowed inside and included as part of the family.

Bella has lost everything, her mum, her home and all that she has ever known, she is desperate for someone to open up their heart and home, to give her the unconditional love she deserves. Bella is well behaved, house-trained and doesn’t need much to keep her happy, just love, affection and some treats of course!
