Ruby

RUBY ROO IS LOOKING FOR YOU!

3-year-old Ruby is looking for a forever family, where she will be the centre of their world, this sweet girl found herself abandoned in the RSPCA and has spent the last few months in foster care, she is now ready to be spoiled rotten in her forever home.

Ruby is a ‘people dog’ that adores her humans; she always wants to be by your side and will happily follow you around the house helping with chores, she is the definition of a German Shadow.

Ruby is affectionate and very friendly, she can be a little shy when meeting new people, but quickly warms up and then is comfortable hanging out, especially if they have treats! Ruby would do best in a quiet home where everyone is over the age of 8 years old, she wants to be the baby of the family where attention is devoted to her.

Ruby is a very clever girl that knows her basic commands and has mastered a few extra tricks too, she is a quick learner and enjoys training and engaging with her humans. Ruby is still working on her leash manners and will need ongoing training in her new home.

Ruby will need plenty of physical and mental stimulation; daily walks, training sessions, enrichment games and activities will all help to keep her busy and stimulated.

Ruby has grown accustomed to indoor life in foster care, she loves snuggling in her bed and is always up for a cuddle and pat… we hear she makes an excellent foot warmer whilst you are watching tv. Ruby would love someone home most of the time, she doesn’t like being outside when she knows someone is home and just wants to be included as part of the family.

Ruby is very conflicted around other dogs; she is showing classic signs of fear reactivity and will try and scare another dog away by making herself seem as big and scary as possible to get them to go away. Ruby will bark, lunge and growl at other dogs, she will need to work on her reactivity with her new humans ongoing. Ruby’s goal is to feel safe and ignore other dogs, she needs to build confidence and learn that her humans will make good decisions for her.

Ruby doesn’t want to interact with other dogs, that shouldn’t be the goal for her new owners, giving her a life where she can maintain distance and decrease her fear and reactions is what Ruby needs most. Ruby needs to be the only pet in her new home; she would not be suited with cats or other small animals.

Ruby loves to play, whether it be figuring out training games, playing tug with a soft toy or playing fetch with her favourite squeaky ball, if her humans are involved, she is at her happiest!
This beautiful girl is extremely loyal and affectionate, she is ready to be the centre of your world just like you will be hers, she will make the ultimate best friend.
