Ruby
Ruby is 7 months old and is a little pocket rocket ready to zoom her way into a forever home. This gorgeous little girl is mostly German Shepherd, however there may be some other breed in there giving her beautiful long legs and the most adorable ears, her personality is all shepherd!
Ruby is the sweetest girl, she starts out a little shy at first and need reassurance that she is safe, once Ruby feels comfortable, she is a wiggle bum that is very affectionate and will zoom around barking to show her joy. Ruby is still building her confidence and will need a family that uses positive reinforcement to encourage her, Ruby loves being told she is a good girl.
Ruby is very food motivated, she loves to learn and has already picked up some basic commands during her time in foster care. Ruby would thrive attending group obedience sessions so that she can continue to learn new skills and practise them under distraction whilst socialising and gaining more exposure to the outside world.
Ruby is still a big puppy and at times will jump up when she is over-excited, she needs to be taught manners and given clear boundaries in her new home. Ruby may accidentally knock over small children, at times she resembles a baby giraffe, legs flying everywhere! Ruby gets overstimulated around children when they run around screaming and will chase them, she is best suited to a home where everyone is over the age of 8 years old.
Ruby starts out a little timid around other dogs, she is unsure and will sometimes bark at them to tell them she is unsure. With reassurance and time to feel comfortable, Ruby is able to meet other dogs. Once Ruby has made friends, she does not stop playing! Ruby adores chasing her foster brother around and is very rough and vocal when she plays, wrestling is her absolute favourite. Ruby would love to live with a large-breed male dog in her new home, a friendly, calm male that can give Ruby guidance would be best suited.
Ruby does like to chase cats if they run, she thinks it is a game, however if they tell her off or give her that evil cat stare, she is terrified of them and will give them a wide birth. Ruby may be able to live with a confident cat in her new home, however slow integration and strict boundaries would be necessary.
Ruby loves being inside with her humans and is a couch hog, stretching out her long legs as far as she can. Ruby sleeps in her crate each night and is also toilet trained. Ruby would love to have someone home often and a big yard to zoom around in during the day.
