Bo
Bo is 3 years old and finds himself in need of a forever home or foster home due to no fault of his own, Bo is currently staying in kennels and is desperate to get out and find a loving forever family.
Bo can be a little aloof when meeting new people, he will give you a sniff all over and then is comfortable hanging out, he isn’t overly affectionate to begin with, however this builds with time, once he knows you, he is quite the snuggler and enjoys a pat and chest scratch. Bo has no experience with children, he could live with dog savvy kids over the age of 5 with careful supervision.
Bo is an active, busy boy that needs to learn how to settle and be calm, he is always looking for something to do and rarely sits still, training techniques to help him practise settling would be beneficial, he needs to be taught an off switch.
Bo is very conflicted around other dogs, his initial reaction is to bark and cause a big scene, voicing his frustration and confusion about what to do next. Bo has been able to sniff other dogs with a slow introduction; however, he gets very overstimulated and doesn’t have any manners. Bo will need slow exposure to other dogs, his first goal is to be calm when he sees them. For now, Bo needs to be the only dog in his new home.
Bo has not been tested with cats or other small animals, we would recommend a home without them.
Bo is a quick learner, he is motivated by both treats and toys but needs to learn to engage with his humans more, we highly recommend a 1 on 1 training session with a dog trainer that can show Bo’s new human how to best engage him and get him motivated to work consistently without getting too distracted.
Whilst Bo is looking for a forever home, we are also accepting foster applications for him, we really want to get him out of the kennels and into a home environment.
